As he fires the gun to his skull, he wakes up in a doctors office in Valentine. He reads the newspaper. "Gunslingers roam the country causing fear and death". The date? "1899".

He wakes up, confused, in a whole different landscape than New Austin. 'Looks kind of familiar.' he thought once again. Jack tries to stand up but fails, falling onto the cold grass. He gets pissed off and tries to mumble something, probably swear words. Too busy cursing at himself, he doesn't notice the two familiar faces staring at him.
