When a song at the Ridgeside Gathering pulls their paths together again, Sam finds himself standing on a stage, singing every apology he's never managed to voice. Maybe it's too late to fix what he's broken. Maybe it's selfish to even hope. But if she could just hear him out-just this once-maybe they could find a way back. Or maybe some mistakes are too heavy to forgive.

"His face was arched with an unusual glow, the glimmering water below reflecting off of his chin and cascading a shadow beneath his dark bangs. He blinked twice, looking down into the deep of the water reflectively, and, seemingly enlightened, he turned to face me with a gentle smile. I watched his eyes dilate, closing halfway with that sleepy, endearing look I held so dear. His thin lips spoke, "I think I'm ready now."" Moving to the countryside from the bustling and busy city was not an easy feat for Skylar Grindle. Pelican Town was a completely new palette of colours, sights and smells. Waking up to the lingering of fresh grass and salty seas surely differed from the clouded musk of her prior home, albeit still new and confusing. The same could be said for the people in the town, so sure of their character and tightly-knit, it was like nothing Skylar had ever experienced. Especially him, and her strange new feelings for the brooding boy from the mountains who she had always imagined unsightly and disagreeable. Will Sky ever become used to her new life in the country?
