Many years in the future, the world is faced with overpopulation, causing famine, droughts, and all kinds of problems. World president at the time, Harry Hindingham, thus declares the event known as the purge, where all crime is allowed. Years later, the purge ends and new president Oswyn Rattigan von Braggenshnacht creates new laws and sends out his mechanical army to enforce them. The punishment for all crime then is death, leaving hundreds of children orphaned. Then one of those orphans, 18 year old Iris, stumbles upon an underground hideout with... 6 cats in tubes? Pressing a button, she accidentally wakes up one of them and they team up against a common enemy. Their goal? Take down the corrupt government that started it all.
