Some stories begin with "Once upon a time." Mine began with survival. I grew up in moving between homes, foster care, schools, and versions of myself I thought people needed me to be. Along the way, there was heartbreak, shame, grief, and choices I never imagined I'd make. But there was also laughter. Freshly baked bread at my Nan's house. Unexpected kindness. People who loved me without conditions. And the quiet, stubborn hope that life could become more than what happened to me. This is a story about trauma, resilience, and finding your way home-even if home is something you have to build yourself. These are the poems I wrote in my darkest time ever. I was abused by my estranged abuser narcissist husband and I was scared and silent. I went by the pen name Silent back then. I did not have the courage to publish these poems back then. But today. I am finally free.
