"You think charm makes you a leader?" Bethany Carter's voice was sharp enough to cut. "No," Adrian Bennet smirked. "But it makes me unforgettable. Can you say the same?" Sparks. Clashes. Tension so thick the whole campus feels it. Adrian is the golden boy-confident, charming, untouchable. Bethany is the perfectionist-brilliant, relentless, and tired of standing in someone else's shadow. When they land top spots in the Student Council, neither is prepared for the firestorm that follows. Heated debates turn personal, rivalry turns magnetic, and every sharp word only blurs the line between hate and something dangerously close to desire. "Careful, Carter," Adrian murmured. "You're playing in my arena now." "Good," she shot back. "I came to win." But beneath their battles lies something neither expected: the cracks in their perfection. And once they start to see each other's truths, their greatest fight won't be for power-it'll be for trust. Because sometimes, love doesn't arrive gently. Sometimes...it collides.

Matteah Zilde hated her surname. It is because it starts with the letter 'Z'!; the last letter in the alphabet. Whenever their teacher would ask them to line outside based on their surnames, she would always complain about her being in the last. She does not want it when she's behind someone. She is annoyed by the thought of looking at someone's back. Thus, in every recognition and graduation ceremony, she'd always make sure to be the first one to be called. She'd always make sure to be in the front rows as it means she has aced another school year. She was perceived as a little genius when she started learning at an early age. She took it and maintained the image that the people created in her academics. She's always the valedictorian and the top in her kindergarten to elementary years. The image generated by the people's expectations around her kept her sane. Not until she reached the 7th Grade. She met a naturally genius girl. She was never angry about her taking her place as the number 1. Truth is, she never hated this genius girl. She hated herself for not being able to reach this girl. Thus, she turned the jealousy and anger into motivation to beat her and be the one on top again. But her dream crumpled apart. Turns out, she was not the junior high school valedictorian of their batch; she failed to reach her goal. So, she promised herself two years after, she'd retrieve her position and be the one to deliver a valedictorian speech for the senior high school graduation ceremony. However, as she believes that life is full of challenges, her obstacle begins by climbing again as she was placed in the lowest section for the 1st year of senior high school. The section comprised failing students, absentees, and almost-dropped-out students.
