However, an alarming situation unfolds when several of Gotham's villains' pets begin causing chaos in a distant and vibrant city. With the safety of this distant metropolis at stake, The Dark Knight decides to entrust Ace with his very first solo mission. His objective: Travel to this unfamiliar city, uncover the reason that has drawn these infamous pets to such an unexpected location, and find a way to stop them and bring them to justice. As Ace embarks on this crucial mission, he crosses paths with the city's own group of protectors-a team of heroic pups led by a young boy, who has recently saved their city from disaster. Now, It's time for Ace to step up and demonstrate that he can be a hero in his own right, proving that bravery knows no bounds, regardless of whether you have two legs or four. For two years Krystal has been fighting crime in Gotham alongside her father and her best friend. She feels it's time she earned her keep, the right to pursue heavy cases of homicide and high profile villains, rather than petty cases of lion theft. However, cutting corners to finish her assignment leads to a grave mistake that puts herself and the people she loves in danger, and the stakes in her case rise higher than she is prepared to face. As the saying goes: "Be careful what you wish for." Krystal gets exactly what she wants, a heavy case. Too heavy. The Batfamily gets entangled in an underground ring of drugs and fights, fueled by greed. With the only key witness being a bloodthirsty canine, they have to bring in extra help from both the Justice League and the covert Teen Titans to stop the monsters under the city from swallowing Gotham up. *SEQUEL TO JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION WORTH MILLIONS*

"What about Bat-Hound?" Asked Krypto, much to Ace's irritation, "You were about to leave him out, Brains... and he's the great detective, just what we'll need on this mission." "Oh, thanks for reminding me, Krypto" she smiled, faking innocence, "I must have wiped him out my memory," she laughed. Bathound just rolled his eyes. "Okay, so Bat-Hound with..." Then she must have realized there was nobody else left. There was an awkward silence for a while before Kiara, the new recruit, chirped, "What about you, Brainy? Why don't you two team up? You're strong enough to fend for yourselves." Both Brainy and Ace flinched. "And... I believe you would make a great pair." "A great pair?! A great pair?!" The words rang in Ace's mind like the most ignorant words in all his life. "Well... I don't think it would-" Brainy started, trying to fish herself out of this one. "Yeah, Brains! I've never seen you and Ace interact much," Krypto chirped as well. Brainy's face flushed red... Ace didn't know if from anger or embarrassment, maybe? "You agree, Krypto?" Kiara asked. "I certainly do, Kiara," he answered. It was then the two knew they had no other option than to team up... Just for this one. ------- As a last resort, Ace the Bat-Hound and Brainy Barker are paired up together for an important mission, even though the two secretly dislike and don't trust each other. Brainy loves Krypto, Krypto loves Wonder Woman's dog, Ace loves nobody. They're however obliged to do this together. Krypto and Ace slowly realize that they find each other as great company. Especially when they need to vent. Maybe something may bloom from this codependent relationship.

(Cross-posted on AO3) With Lulu finally defeated (for the time being), things were quiet in Metropolis. Well, as quiet as they can be with villains popping up left and right. But with the League of Super-Pets and the Justice League working side by side, there was never any true need to worry. After all, superheroes were meant to do everything in their power to keep civilians safe. With less to do, this only gave Ace more time to himself. Something he really, truly did not want.
