Once a year a circus will appear from the mist, materializing before its riders. Rollercoasters that defy physics, fortune tellers with knowledge of the future, performers with talent unknown. The mystique draws people in, pulling them to the unknown as they walk off into the mist to be devoured by the circus. Little is known about the people who enter, it's only those who leave who regret it. They spend their days wallowing away their sorrows with regrets of the magic and lights they saw. Lorelei is drawn in by the magic and mystique, when an opportunity arises to "save" her brother from the circus, will she take it? *this book is a work in progress, it is constantly being updated and errors being fixed! The black and white humans who could paint words with their hands, the inhumane who could seemingly eat fire, and the walkers in the sky. Ever since he had seen his first circus, he had kept coming back to see ones all over the world, hoping to join this magical world of freaks. But he never could. Everyone he went to turned him away. They said he was too much of a normal person. He had no talent. Nothing that could define him a place in this trivial world of abnormal beings. Still, he threw himself at every single circus he saw. He begged ringmasters, pestered acrobats, and did everything he thought possible just to get one chance to be in the ring. Until finally, when he aged 19, he got accepted. To the Slayers of Demons Circus Organization. And it was a dream come true. He knew that he would have to find a talent to define him. He expected to fall flat on his face trying to do a one handed cartwheel. But what he didn't expect, was to get drawn in by a kind hearted, red head, tightrope walker, along with a boar masked contortionist. Together they find each other in the wild, mystical, magical, world called the circus.

Gerard has been a lion tamer at a traveling circus for years. The job itself is easy, but his boss, The Ringmaster, Todd, makes it harder on him by being cruel to anyone who happens to get in his way of being one of the most successful circuses in all of America. Mimey is the mime whom he watches from behind the tent curtain before he gets yelled at by the ringmaster. He adores the sweet, silent man. He's forbidden to talk or give out his real name, as are all other carnies. But the difference is is that Gerard's name is known (Gerard, but he's forced to go by Linus) but with Mimey, only the ringmaster himself knows his name. Both rules decided by Todd. But he stays cheery and still smiles every day. However, Gerard notices his joy slowly being taken from him, and gloom starting to follow him around more and more. He's been becoming secretive as well. What's been going on? And why is he never around? This worries Gerard and makes him start to ponder what's really happening behind closed doors. WARNING: Slightly graphic depictions and suggestions of violence. Ongoing throughout the story.
