Although cool, calm and calculated, James is not invincible as he commits several nefarious deeds on behalf of The Templar Order for decades, in which he and comrades believe, are all for the betterment of mankind. Author's Note: If you've read the AC Novel, Assassins Creed Forsaken, you will come to understand that I largely based the protagonist, myself, on the character of Haytham Kenway. For me, personally, Haytham is perhaps my favourite character in AC along with Ezio and Altaïr, and since my character is a Templar, why not use Haytham as a prime source of inspiration? I absolutely adore how Haytham is written, both in the novel as well as in Ubisoft's video game: Assassin's Creed 3. He is the best character by far in both depictions. If you know, you know. There is no need to write a lengthy essay on him here. That's also why I decided to make the cover as Haytham Kenway, as I thought it would be a nice nod to him. This story was originally written in February 2020 and was finished around March 2021 with some breaks in between, due to the global pandemic that once ravaged this planet. Since those dates, however, I've made some modifications to the book starting from around the beginning of this year when I could because I deemed parts to be unsuitable. Of course, this novel isn't fully finished, as there's plenty to be done on it (the story is finished, but there are certain areas that could be written a bit better etc) and I expect it's far from fully finished.
