Aided by Nuadan and his dwindling squad of Asuryani, Caius sets out to try and stop Hepharion and his warband before they claim another world while protecting the Titan heart salvaged from Polemeca while waiting for an Adeptus Mechanicus vessel to take it to Mars. Arriving on Alamarri, they meet Captain Finn Varis of the Imperial Fists and the Forward Engineering Battalion who reveal that the situation might be far more complicated than they would ever imagine as a series of ancient Eldar webway gates are discovered beneath the fortress.
