Tygon and Lila begin their university placement at Straylight, the same company where Nine works. He is supposed to be overseas on a long-term project, giving Tygon hope that she can avoid him and concentrate on the job. At the end of their first week, project assignments are released. That is when Tygon discovers, in the worst way possible, that Nine has returned early. Worse still, she and Nine are placed on the same project team. Tygon is determined to remain professional, avoid him entirely, and pretend nothing ever happened. But between their tangled past, her growing symptoms, and the secret she is carrying, staying away from him becomes impossible.

He's in the place to be, finally free to do whatever HE wants to do. These two are polar opposites- Alex is a workaholic, John thinks learning is boring, John is a social butterfly, Alex has no friends at all, etc., but both of them share a love for music (that Alex tries to deny). What happens when Alex becomes one of the band members in John's band by accident? Can these two learn something from one another? Or will their differences make it impossible for them to stand each other?
