Kim Reese and Spencer Boyer have been married now for fifteen years. Both of them work at the same hospital, Marley Memorial Hospital, in Kingston, Jamaica where Kim is a successful neurosurgeon and Spencer is an ER trauma surgeon. She is dreaming about her first meeting with Spencer back at Hillman and how smitten he was with her after she made her second initial hand at making an incision on the cadaver. Later, while at home, Kim is yet again bombarded by Spencer wanting to talk about having another child; he wants a little girl. Kim is torn between her very successful career that she enjoys immensely and satisfying Spencer's desire for a child.
