It's now 2018 and Dwayne and Whitley Wayne are no longer students at Hilman College, their daughter Zoe is. Growing up a very different life than her parents Zoe, struggled to understand her identity as a black woman. So when it's time for her to apply to college she chooses a Historically Black College, Hillman. A new crew of friends, the crazy world of college and one epic stomp the yard style step show later, it's up to Zoe to figure out if Hillman is the school for her?

Kim Reese and Spencer Boyer have been married now for fifteen years. Both of them work at the same hospital, Marley Memorial Hospital, in Kingston, Jamaica where Kim is a successful neurosurgeon and Spencer is an ER trauma surgeon. They have one son, Reese, who is eight years old. As this story begins, Kim is asleep in the on-call room at the hospital. She is dreaming about her first meeting with Spencer back at Hillman and how smitten he was with her after she made her second initial hand at making an incision on the cadaver. Later, while at home, Kim is yet again bombarded by Spencer wanting to talk about having another child; he wants a little girl. Kim is torn between her very successful career that she enjoys immensely and satisfying Spencer's desire for a child.
