As if on cue, the bird let out a loud cackle, from the distance, where the foliage was thickest, came a loud cacophony, double perhaps triple of that which they children had heard before and the flapping of a great many wings. Up into the air rose an insurmountable mass of bird, bringing darkness with it.

The island is famed for its deadly birds. The worst of this birds is the great grey shrike; its scientific name 'excubitor lanius' literally meaning 'sentinel butcher'. This bird impales its food whatsoever,on thorns as it perches on tree tops watching the area in its line of sight for the next prey.

With each passing minute I become uncertain, for my memory fades like night gives way to day, in less than no time I will forget who I am and my life will just be a blur in history only if I had existed in one.

A plane that has lost its fuel and left its passengers unharmed but isolated. The obvious problem stirs up disputes between the passengers where logic is overruled by humanity's deepest instincts; fear. Against it, nothing will prevail. Lost in an unknown forest together with strangers without any way to contact civilisation perhaps death is to prefer to the destiny of slowly starving to death. -------------------- Entry for Adventure Friday.
