"I do not want to be a prince tonight, Fraya." He tells her, his sultry voice wrapping around her like an embrace. She leans her arm on the back of the couch, propping her head up with the palm of her hand.
"Then don't be, just be Dorian." His features soften as she says the words, is it the drinks making that feeling within her burn so much brighter? His hand falls to rest on her thigh, he cocks his head to the side.
"Will you continue to look at me that way if I do?" Her eyes droop as she studies his face, watching him closely as his face draws closer and closer, until his lips are on hers; for a moment, the world around them disappears. The feeling inside her erupts, sending her body into shock as she leans into him; he pulls her against him and deepens their kiss. She feels his hands on her back, on her waist, her own pressed against his cheek. She feels her mind falling, further and further into oblivion it goes, before somethings stops it.
Dorian Hallivard, the son of her enemy, the man who slaughtered her family, her sister. The heir to a throne who burnt her family home to the ground and destroyed Terresan, that is what sits before her now. She suddenly pulls away from him, her breathing fast and panicked as she looks at him with eyes. He stares back at her in surprise, before his concern for her settles upon his face.
"Fraya?" He asks, his voice soft; for a moment that is all it takes to almost make her stay, to curl back into this beautiful prince and fully open herself to him. To allow her past, her former self, fall away and be only here with him.
"I have to go." She blurts out, pushing to her feet and disappearing into the crowd before he can utter a word.
