Like all main characters of fantasy stories, Ajax Warrenson has an anime backstory. They're an orphan. Classic. Named after dish soap? Not as classic, but workable. Who would name their child after dish soap anyways? No one, that's who. Instead, that 'who' originally named our protagonist 'Alexander'. Now that's a classic. But not everyone's cisgender like some people would like to think- Ajax Warrenson happens to not have a gender. Agender, it's called. They figured that somewhere around fourteen, and have fought tooth and claw against asshole peers and suffered through many passive-aggressive conversations with adults for their identity and sometimes just the respectful, correct use of their pronouns and self-given name, no matter how soapy. Other than that, they liked to think they were pretty average. Don't all protagonists? Alas, our Ajax here was incorrect, like many main characters before them.
A narrator wouldn't follow someone for the sole purpose of shits and giggles, now, would they?
