In a village where the river remembers names and the soil listens, silence is never empty. Noziphozamandla (Gift of Power) returns home carrying a grief she does not yet understand-unaware that death has already crossed her path, that her bloodline hums with secrets older than language. At night, the drum begins to speak. Soft at first. Patient. Calling not to her ears, but to her spirit. Children chant where no children should be. Shadows move without bodies. And something small watches from the dark, waiting to be acknowledged. Rooted in South African ancestral lore and whispered truths of witchcraft, When the Drum Speaks is a slow-burning, unsettling journey into the unseen, where amadlozi (ancestors) walk beside the living, gifts are inherited in silence, and ignorance is the most dangerous curse of all. Some stories are read. Others are answered.

They say the ocean forgets nothing. Not the names whispered into its depths. Not the bodies it swallows whole. And certainly not the curse that followed. On a doomed voyage toward the Dark Continent, a sickness spreads--quiet, unnatural, watching. Men begin to change. Some disappear. Others should have. Far from the waters, in a kingdom built on legacy and silence, a girl marked by something she cannot explain is chosen for a trial she was never meant to survive. A hunter. A secret. A bloodline that should have remained buried. As ancient forces begin to stir, two paths-one across the ocean, one beneath a crown-move toward a truth neither is ready to face. Because some stories are not meant to be remembered. And some names... should never be spoken again.

YAHWEH, tired of endless, petty human prayers, is rudely awakened from his siesta, only to find himself dragged into a divine squabble across continents. From bickering with Egyptian gods to clashing with Kenyan deities like MWENENYAGA and CHEPTALEL, he discovers that saving a single human life is far more complicated-and hilarious-than he ever imagined. I thought writing an Anansi and Charlotte crossover would be fun. African trickster god meets classic children's literature-what could go wrong? Everything. Now I'm trapped in my own fanfiction as a pig while Anansi makes terrible pickup lines and Wilbur thinks I'm his soulmate. The only way out? Fix this story from the inside. Even if I have to do it with hooves. A comedy about writing, mythology, and fictional characters who refuse to follow the script.

Many years ago, ten dragons from different mythologies ruled the earth. Each had a fang that contained sacred powers which can be granted to anyone or anything of their choosing. However, they had to flee to different dimensions to escape a strange being named Sir Metallica. He managed to track down and kill all ten dragons, harvesting their fangs that contained the powers. His plans were soon foiled when a mysterious spaceship blasted his, creating a small hole. All of the fangs fell out and were scattered across Earth. Now, it is up to ten teenagers to find the fangs before Sir Metallica gets his hands on them. This is my first story I've ever done so bear with me on this one if there are a few too many mistakes. All the characters, the cover and storyline were made by me and as mentioned in the description the dragons are based off of mythologies from around the world. Hope y'all enjoy and feel free to leave constructive criticism in the comments. I would love to hear what you guys want me to edit and such.

A lone, battle-scarred warrior enters a valley scorched by war-not as a conqueror, but as the last shield for the innocent. Known for his unyielding loyalty and predator-like skill, he is a force of nature that the villagers call a "Saviour." But where the people see hope, a paranoid King sees a threat. Consumed by a sour and bitter envy, the crown orchestrates the ultimate betrayal to break the hero's spirit. From the slaughter of his family to a final, brutal confrontation against an entire army, the warrior must face a tragic destiny. Though the axe may fall in the fortress courtyard, some legends are too powerful to die. The Beheaded Saviour is a cinematic African epic about the cost of honour, the weight of sacrifice, and a legacy that refuses to be silenced by death. An African Story by Egbeolowo Abdul Malik Ayomide (PRESIDO).

"in the heart of the savanah, legends are not born - they are carved in battle and crowned by blood." Before the crown, there was the claw. Before the throne, there was the Promised One, Tashe -marked by the hand of the Maasai goddess, whispered through the plains in prophecy. A cub born not of chance, but of destiny-foretold to unite the fractured grasslands under one crown, and to usher in an era of peace and boundless abundance. This is not merely the tale of a king's ascent, but the crucible of a chosen one-Scarface-whose trials by fang, fire, and fate shaped the legend of a lion blessed by the gods."

Thanks to the @Identity&Culture Ambassadors & @ScienceFictionAmbassadors for adding my #sci-fi #TheOneWhoEatsDreams to their #culture & #dystopocalypse reading lists. The One Who Eats Dreams is a speculative fiction novelette, and a blend of fantasy, sci-fi, and magical realism set in a dystopian South Africa, where the boundaries between dreams and reality blur. The story unfolds in a world marked by the rise of the Bubbles, shimmering domes that symbolise privilege, contrasting sharply with the struggles of those outside their confines. Central to the narrative is the legend of the Dream Eater, known as uMdli wephupho, (the one who eats dreams), a malevolent spirit that consumes dreams and has awakened due to the introduction of Dream Dust, a substance that offers an escape but leads to addiction and despair. The prologue introduces the rich mythology surrounding the Dream Eater, describing how it once served as a guardian of dreams but became corrupted by darkness. As technology advances, the whispers of ancestral wisdom fade, leaving dreamers vulnerable to this insatiable hunger. Review: The blending of African mythology with modern technology in "The One Who Eats Dreams" effectively captivates the imagination through its rich cultural context, emotional depth, and innovative storytelling. By exploring themes of identity, tradition versus modernity, and the consequences of escapism, the narrative invites readers on a thought-provoking journey that resonates on multiple levels. This unusual fusion not only enhances engagement but also encourages reflection on broader societal issues, making it an intriguing read for those interested in complex narratives that challenge conventional boundaries. The upcoming novelette explores themes of addiction, loss, and the struggle between tradition and modernity as characters grapple with their realities and strive to reclaim their dreams from an encroaching darkness. Willa and Melusi become: Mel-a. (Dedicated to you).
