"Wait what's going on? Where am I?" I frantically say as I regained consciousness. I attempted to sit up as I was in a very uncomfortable position. My body wasn't budging and that's when i saw an unfamiliar man on top of me. Aggressively kissing my neck. "WTF LEAVE ME ALONE" I shouted gripping onto his shirt trying to get his large body off of mine. But there was no point he was too strong. His massive body overpowered mine. I whimpered in pain. "dad?" "Dad?" "DAD! WHERE ARE YOU?" "HELP ME" The strange man slapped my ebony skin and covered my mouth with his huge hand. "I liked you better when you were unconscious" He continued to whisper into my ear saying how this was the best £2500 he's ever spent for a person. What did he mean by that? Was I being bought off? I tried to pinch and scratch his torso but to no avail did he stop kissing my neck. What did I do to deserve this "WHY ME?" With the tears burning my cheek I turned my face away from the man destroying every part of my self. I see my Dad's figure appear into the room. He just stood there not coming to my rescue; not saying a word. He mouthed "Sorry" before walking away from me with the money in his hands. Slamming the door behind him. The three things I had to myself was now gone. My Innocence My Purity And the one man I thought I could count on in this shitty fucked up world I felt like dying. Right here right now I feel empty, dirty, unworthy, weak and destroyed. I might as well end it. It's not like anyone would care if I'm alive or dead

We're all looking for a little bit of fulfillment. For something we can call our own. We want to find our own place in life.....Well, if you concour with me, then you'll be able to relate with "Adetiba Adesua". ...A young Nigerian girl, striving to achieve a seemingly far fetched goal. Dareing to dream, in a land were to do so is futile. In hopes of becoming a "k.pop idol". Going against all odds, and leaping mountains of discouragement to accomplish this feat! Even when her entire family opposes her. She remains adamant, and is determined to make a name for herself. Curbing aside all doubt, and crossing over to the other side of the world. Just to do what she loves. In a place she's grown to love....SOUTH KOREA! The road was uncertain. And whether she'd be seen as "friend or foe". Was left to be determined by nerve burning probabilities. Willing to learn, fight and grow. She takes up talent in one hand and hope in the other. Constantly reminding herself that..."Your dreams only seem far, when you don't reach out for them!"

My name is Revelation. Absurd? You bet it is. But no my parents are not crazy. Maybe a little bit, but aren't we all? Okay, my actual name is Oluwafimihan (Don't try to pronounce this, you might need a tongue surgery to untangle your tongue). But since Revelation is the English equivalent of my name, I just go by it. I am a 17 year old international student, Currently a Chemistry major at UMBC. I'm from Nigeria, a country in the western parts of Africa where we wear leaves, eat each other for dinner and think that America is heaven. Joking!! But there might be a little truth in the America is heaven part. Life was going somewhat perfect for me. I was adjusting to the American environment, my grades were excellent (Although my mother would've gotten on the first flight to Baltimore from Nigeria if one of my A's dropped to a B) and most of all my spiritual life was noticeably better. But, there is never a perfect scenario in life right? Even in books or movies. There has to be a plot, a twist or an abnormality. Something that intrigues but yet challenges us. That is just the way life is and I have come to embrace that glaring fact. I met a boy. Typical rude, angry and highly opinionated young adult. He questioned every single thing I believed in and I made a mental promise to be the person that causes a positive change in his life. A popular Bible verse says "Bad company corrupts good manners" If bad company is capable of corrupting good manners then to what extent can good company influence bad manners? #555 in Spiritual on 8/27/2017
