Inspired by the 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' book series by Holly Jackson, The Good After Murder is a (mostly) lighthearted spin-off to As Good As Dead of the series: The verdict was out. Max Hastings would be in prison for a long while. Pip was free. She was free to see her family and friends again-to see her Ravi again. But even when the legal business is done, and the murders and now-solved cases of the past are too, Pip's story isn't finished. She is still facing the weight of her actions-of murder and leaving everyone she loves behind. She carries the weight of the trauma from each case her stubborn mind made her solve. She has her growing desire to reconnect with her loved ones and to not push them away anymore. The hardest parts are over, but Pip's story is still longing for closure. ~~~~~ This is a fanfiction, and has no official affiliation to the 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' series. Fairview seemed to learn their lesson when it came to the Singh family, but when Ravi's relatives move to Fairview soon before the murder took place, suspicion arises. Halil Singh was their main target for the suspicious rumours. Valarie, knowing what happened with Sal all that time ago, cannot let it happen again. When Pip decides to leave for college early and ghost everyone she loves except for her family, she thinks it'll help her forget her past of pills and PTSD and crime solving. Only, instead she finds herself maturing faster than she meant to. Living alone can do that, she realizes, as she warms up to her new apartment and navigates life as a puppy-mom. She's recovering from the heartbreak of leaving Ravi that she brought upon herself - if she's going to be leaving for college, she wants it to be a complete fresh start. As badly as it hurts her, she does it anyway. She's trying new drinks, like way-too-sweet and way-too-expensive coffee. She's casually dating (even if she doesn't think it'll be good for her). She's making new friends, because out with the old and in with the new. Oh, and she's pregnant. She's navigating the next four years of her life relatively alone - the only stable things being her three new best friends, her dog, and her growing child. Her lovers are the one thing she can't seem to get right. (All of that, and she hasn't killed anyone.) - May contain smut/angst, mentions of drug use, and other possibly triggering topics.
