Scarlett, a perfect grade A student, starts a new high school after a chilling incident involving murder. Tenth grade is hard for her, but she makes friends quickly. One night, she gets invited to a party in which a terrible accident happens. Scarlett breaks her leg, causing her to be on house arrest for a few weeks while it heals. Stuck at home all day, she does nothing but watch videos and patiently wait for her doctor's approval to go back to school. But within a few days, Scarlett is haunted by a no caller ID. When she answers, she gets a horrible rendition of what seems to be a murder confession from the other line. Scarlett ends spun up in a crazy case involving a dead girl and notes she left, all dedicated to Scarlett.

Inspired by the 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' book series by Holly Jackson, The Good After Murder is a (mostly) lighthearted spin-off to As Good As Dead of the series: The verdict was out. Max Hastings would be in prison for a long while. Pip was free. She was free to see her family and friends again-to see her Ravi again. But even when the legal business is done, and the murders and now-solved cases of the past are too, Pip's story isn't finished. She is still facing the weight of her actions-of murder and leaving everyone she loves behind. She carries the weight of the trauma from each case her stubborn mind made her solve. She has her growing desire to reconnect with her loved ones and to not push them away anymore. Upon hearing his story, they realize he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, but he did have some crucial evidence to who murdered his little brother. The evidence however, is out of this world. Literally.

Amanda Fitz-Amobi goes to Fairview, Connecticut to help her sister Pip with an investigation which Pip claims she can't solve without the help of her sister. But Amanda has a few questions.
