"A Good Man is Hard to Find."

After falling subject to anxiety attacks, and early life crisis, Erin decides to leave an unhealthy relationship, where the only meaningful thing she has received is a diamond necklace.

A group of friends decide to take a road trip across Spain and encounter an unlucky surprise on the highway. Heavily influenced by the short southern Gothic story by Flannery O'Conner, "A Good Man is Hard to Find" about how horrible people are capable of being, though I can't pretend to have achieved anything close to this older story's excellence. On the other hand, this is also a story about culture shock, the cruelties and ambiguities of friendship, and the blind spots of being an expat.

This paper argues how the grandmother from Flannery O'Connor's short story "A Good Man is Hard to Find" is partially deficient in empathy. I hated the idea of how my research was only read by my professors, so I wanted to share my findings to a bigger audience. I hope you enjoy this short essay! P.S. the cover picture is not my own.
