Daemon the Great has ruled an empire larger than any since the mythical Age of Dawn. Nine years an alliance of Stark, Arryn, Tully, Baratheon, and Blackfyre has kept the peace. Nine years the long summer of Daeron the Good, and Daemon Blackfyre after him, has survived past its false autumn. But seasons change, and all ages come to an end.

This story focuses on King Jaehaerys I and the Good Queen Alysanne's three eldest living children: Aemon, Baelon and Alyssa. The story commences accurately and paying homage to canon, then shows a series of events that could have befallen. Much detail has been paid to match canon and the tone of source material. Just a generation before Westeros would have suffered 'the Dance of the Dragons' another succession war complicates the Targaryen dynamics. The story commences a week prior to Baelon and Alyssa's union.

Euron Greyjoy has arrived to purchase the Golden Company to fight for queen Cersei against the Targaryens, Starks and their allies. The fate of the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms lay in the hands of the young Aegor Bittersteel the Dragon of Steel.
