Her father takes some time to see his daughter but for the most part, is traveling the world for his job. As for her mom... her mom sadly passed when Ailani was 10. When she turned 14 she asked her father if she could move to Japan to attend one of the most famous hero academies, UA High School. Since Ailani had an aunt that lived in Japan and was a Pro-Hero her dad knew that his daughter would be safe while attending UA. She wants to become a hero not only because her sisters are the top heroes in Hawaii, Water Witch and Waver, but to also prove that her basic simple quirk can be used for more and put to great use. On her journey, she'll encounter many evils, new friends, and learnings on how to use her quirk. It's not fair. People keep telling me that "this is the only world we have", "you can't change where you are, Ailani", blah blah blah. I don't care! I seriously do not understand why we have the pleasure of books but the tragedy when we find out that nothing in them could actually happen. I want to live in a world where there are demons and I fight them, I want to be a demigod, I want to be part faerie, I want to be a mermaid but the harsh truth is, is that I can't be any of those things. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ailani is your not so-average teenage girl. She is so engrossed in books that she can't help but feel the desire to be one. Her best friend, Percy, is exactly like her. They basically live at each others houses, read the same books, think the same things, do the same things, basically they are exactly like one another. When the two of them can't take their boring world anymore, they run away together and what they find along the way makes them want to squeal with delight... :)
