When Tom and his adopted family receive a telegram from the United States Army Air Forces telling them that their brother James has been reported Missing in Action, Tom's life slowly begins to fall apart. Secretly, he and James are lovers, and in a society where being gay is still illegal, Tom has had to hide his relationship throughout the war and before it. Through a series of letters, Tom writes to James explaining his life, his love. He struggles to understand society and James' sister, who gave away their secret and caused the whole family to make a hurried escape across the USA. But James is still missing. Are Tom's letters futile? Will he ever see his lover again? ~ Written for the #JustWriteIt #LoveLetters February challenge by Wattpad.
