The Otherworlders never came. In 1941, facing economic sanctions from the United States, the Empire of Japan resolves to go to war and opens hostilities against the US, Britain, the Netherlands, and Australia. While the Southern Operation and the attack on Pearl Harbor mark the beginning of the conflict, the Magitek Research Department, which had been preparing its military forces against a possible invasion from another world, finds that no such enemy appears. Instead, it joins the war as part of Japan's military strength. The Magitek Research Department revives warships sunk during World War II-including the battleship Tosa, as well as Bismarck, Hood, and numerous aircraft carriers and other vessels-using technologies and magical techniques from another world. Armed with these resurrected weapons, it sails the world's oceans in battle against the Allied powers. Thus, this alternate World War II follows a path different from that of real history... She was meant to be the face of Manchukuo at the Tokyo Olympic Games, a vessel whose prestige would be demonstrated through grand-scale operation... though this rarely happened. Due to the worsening external situation, she was ultimately recommissioned as a warship of the Imperial Navy.
