There is no night in the Everburning City. There can never be. ***** For four hundred years the Everburning City has withstood the advance of the life-strangling fog known as the Gloam. Its walls have held back five invasions, but on the eve of the sixth, the city's inhabitants know things have changed. Golems are coming out of the mist, and the bodies of the dead are rising at the Gloam's bidding. The city's last and most desperate line of defence comes in the form of the Crafters, individuals who can channel the power of fire, though they risk their sanity each time they do. Life for the common man is hard, here in a world where a blanket of noxious polluting clouds completely enshrouds all but the highest mountain peaks and mesas. Cruises were rarely used and airplanes were becoming a thing of the past. These aircrafts hovever, were a new way to travel. Even though these types of aircrafts were a different model, the passengers had a ride they would never forget...

The planet was shattered, once. Now, atop the flying pieces of land known as skylands, breaks out an all-out war between the nations of the World Rings. The clouds are set as the battlefield's terrain, while the military airships await their glorious entrance, powered by magic crystals capable of defying gravity itself. It's in this turmoil that a thieving girl masquerading as an urchin boy, a failed aristocrat now loyal to the underworld, and the mysterious captain of the Sky Rider pirate crew, all partake in changing the worldwide course of action, each one utilizing powers of unknown origin.

The Unabridged Adventures of the Dracwyn & Her Noble Crew, The Accurate & Exquisite Renderings of the Fauna of Lunasea Island washed up last summer along the shores of Seahouses in Northumbria, England, where I found it floating in a shallow cove. More than 100 year old, it is the extensive field guide of the Dracwyn adventures who disappeared in 1903 along with their airship Dracwyn. Somehow they managed to send their field notes and drawings back to the English coast, and I was lucky enough to happen upon them. The book catalogs the 20 fantastical creatures of the mysterious Lunasea Island, in addition to chronicling the travels and discoveries of the crew as they made their new home upon Lunasea. Here on Wattpad, I'm presenting not only their creature discovery stories, but also the stunning zoological sketches of all 20 of the creatures, as documented by their team naturalist, Marigold Bewick. I've written all 28 parts, and will be releasing them one per day starting September 12, 2015.
