In life they were lovers, but when the house caught on fire, the older didn't make it. The younger, wrecked with grief, threw himself into the ocean, letting it claim him. But neither knew they would be reincarnated. the older as a dragon representing his firey end. the younger as a merman representing his watery grave. They don't remember each other anymore, however a chance meeting brings them back together. one belongs to the sky, the other to the sea. nature keeps them separate, but they want to be together. the only question is how?

Soulmate AU- when one is in pain or is feeling great waves of emotion, their soulmate will share the pain and emotions as well. Akaashi is a boy who doesn't really care about soulmates, while Bokuto doesn't know a thing about them. So he wouldn't have to explain how ever since his mother died he hasn't been fine. His dad started drinking and abusing him. He lost all of his friends. He gets bullied, he just wants to die but for some reason he can't. He's afraid and he doesn't want them to win this fight so he keeps going, even though every breath he takes he feels like is a waste, he still goes. For his mom, for his best friend that died years ago, and for himself. The words 'I'm fine' hold such a big meaning to him.
