They've been friends for 5 years until Ai and Hikaru started dating, which led to them sleeping together and getting Ai pregnant. After they found out Ai was pregnant, Hikaru disappeared and blocked Nei's number and stopped talking to her. Ai on the other hand, she didn't want Nei to know that she was pregnant yet, so she also blocked Nei. After 3 years, Ai finally reached out to Ai and confessed everything, Nei was shocked but also supported her. So Ai decided to ask Nei to visit her to meet her kids which she agreed. After that, she met Ai's twins, Aquamarine and Ruby Hoshino After Ai's death, Nei was absolutely devastated that her best friend had passed away, she burst into tears and her white stars turned black. She then vowed that she will find out who killed Ai and kill them with her own hands 12 years later, Nei is now 28 and she adopted Ai's personality.
