Once the truce between dragons and elves is made the dragons gave the elves three eggs, once they hatched the new riders must train to become the heroes and protectors Eragon (the original one not Eragon Brom's son) expects them to be, but then the new queen Dellanir forbids dragon riders to enter the elves' forests, making it a little more difficult. The old farm was quiet as it stood proudly in the light from the morning sun and the only thing you could hear was the singing of the birds and the whistle of the wind. But as the sun climbed up the sky the sound of the perpetrating village reached the farm and it's inhabitants. The old wooden cabin built a few yards away from the proudly grey farm covered four family members from the cold breeze of the spring. From the outside the only thing you could see was the calm and sleeping house, but the truth was far from it. The four members of the family was the two parents; Susan, who's grandmother was a spy for Galbatorix and burned the dark kings lies into her daughters mind, who in turn burned the lies into her daughters head. The father, George, was a man that hated the dragons and their riders as much as his wife and he loved his son and said wife with all he had. Then there was Brad, their 19-year-old son, who had taking the dislike for dragons and their riders so that he now loathed them and what they stood for. He loathed them as much as he loathed his 'sister'.  Then there was Jennifer, the 18-year-old girl, who was cheerful and always had a smile on her face, but behind closed doors she was a girl broken and abused to her breaking point by her so called family. So to say that the family who lived on the farm was a happy one was far from true and in the near future the village would get the knowledge of what exactly is happening on that farm and it would change said family all the way down to the bone. It would destroy lives and it would save others. The life of the daughter of the farm would change forever as the powerful dragon rider Eragon came back to the town he grew up in, the town that had only brought pain and agony to the young farm-girl. After finishing her tutelage under Eragon and Saphira, they call upon Illiya and her dragon, Osiris, for help in a mission that could endanger the lives, and the very existence, of the few Dragon Riders in Alagaesia. Featuring old favorite characters and introducing lovable new ones, The Return is a story that hopefully provides insight in to the lives of Riders after the fall of Galbatorix.

You know the story. The beginning and the end. A lone Rider and dragon prevailing against impossible odds. But what if they were changed? Another pair that takes up the mantle of responsibility and makes a mark on Alagaësia in their own way? What if Eragon had a twin sister and in the Spine, they found a red stone instead? What changes, then, starting from the very beginning? ======================================== An Inheritance Cycle fanfiction/rewrite, written in such a way that even those unfamiliar with the series can read without issue! An OC insert at the beginning of the first book where the difference in character, personality, and actions cause this story to diverge from the one we know slowly. Some of the first chapters are more or less simple edited copies of actual chapters from the books, mainly because there was simply not much to change. But as the story diverges, so will the chapters. Currently, I plan to rewrite the entirety of the first book, but that is a pretty huge goal, so we'll see.
