The moon is shining in the sky, reminding me of so many other nights, when my eyes had been so red, I'd been mistaken for dead, but not tonight My interpretation of the song through a story. 1981. Alan stumbles across Martin on the edge of a bridge one night. He later finds out that Martin is prepared to take his own life. Will he be able to save him or will it be too late? (Nothing in this is fact it's just a nice little story that this song always makes me think about)

(The third installment in the series or in what is now the trilogy; I recommend you read the first two stories Fragile Tension and It Won't Always Be Like This beforehand or this may not make much sense to you! ❤️ Side note: All events in this story are fictional. Do not take them seriously!) It's been over three and a half years since the Wilder family became whole. In that time, Alan and Martin's daughters Poppi and Esme have grown up in what seems like a heartbeat and at now six and three years old, they are in junior school and nursery. But this picture of normality will soon be interrupted with a summer holiday... A summer holiday in which lasts a little longer. Depeche Mode are touring again, and Alan and Martin are left with no other choice but to bring their children with them. How will these young sisters and their parents cope on a worldwide tour, and what hurdles will be thrown their way?

1984 - Depeche Mode are in Berlin recording "Some Great Reward" at Hansa Tonstudio. Martin and Alan have an argument and Alan has to extend an olive branch in order to get the recording session back on track.

It's unusual for a woman to meet a famous band on holiday in a strange country, but what's even weirder is that they decide to pull her along on tour and a particular member has laid his eyes on her. Hi! I'm back from the death with a new Alan fanfic! I came up with this idea while actually on holiday in Germany and I was stuck inside our caravan because of the bad weather. Parenthood. A mammoth task. Alan and Martin's lives were flipped on their heads when they welcomed their daughter Poppi in November 1986. Since her birth, not a single aspect of their lives have remained the same, with the one exception of their roles in the music industry. It's the Autumn of 1987 and the air tinged with a chill is filling those of Depeche Mode's lungs as they prepare to embark on a global tour for their recently surfaced album, Music For The Masses. Poppi's first birthday vastly approaching, however, how will her parents juggle one of the greatest milestones of their lives and a tour at a clashing time period as well as other challenges parenthood may bring? It's 1986 and Depeche Mode are touring for their newly released album, Black Celebration. Alan and Martin have been in a relationship for 3 years; over the course of that time period Alan has watched as Martin's drinking habit has spiralled out of control, at its worst whilst on the road.
