The story will go deeper in the explanation of their bond (there will be telepathy), and a grey, maybe a little OOC, Alina. [ON HOLD] As the years pass, Alina understands the Darkling more and more- and begins to regret killing him. When the last of the otkazat'sya summoners die, her power slowly begins to return to her. Events happen after the end of King of Scars and will mainly focus on Alina and the Darkling. Spoilers ahead. Rule of Wolves might be spoiled if I decide to go around the book (not yet read) or completely ignore the events that are happening there. This fanfic will explore their bond more.

A shadow snaked up my arm, a gentle caress, a brush of the night. "My name, Alina." I lifted my head. "Please, Aleksander." The darkness fell away and the nichevo'ya went still. The Grisha stopped and faced us. I barely registered Mal's horrified gaze. "Stand." My knees shook, but I pushed myself to my feet and stared into the Darkling's quartz eyes. Lifeless. Empty. Victorious. - The Darkling's forces are too great. The nichevo'ya, the Grisha, the merzost... It has been more than a year since Alina Oretsev (formerly known as Alina Starkov) has tried to shake off the events that destroyed the Shadow Fold and that stripped her of her Sun Summoner's powers. The events that took his life - the life of the Darkling, also known as Aleksander Morozova, The Black Heretic or The Shadow King. Alina is now married to Malyen Oretsev, which she such desperately wanted some time ago. Everything seems to be going like she once wished, allowing her to nearly forget about her being the former Grisha and about all political conflicts constantly tormenting Ravka after the Darkling's death. But Mal pushes her to have a child with him and Alina is only 19 - which means she's not ready for it. The constant pressure from her husband awakens the unknown feelings, evoking shadows that the former Sun Summoner had been so disgusted with not that long ago. But he's dead, so that's impossible... isn't it? However, there is something that Alina hasn't known yet. After killing Aleksander Morozova by her own hands she unnecessarily kept a knife which had taken his life. It was a huge mistake. She even unnecessarily hid this knife as her greatest treasure... ***************** Will jealousy release the dark part of Alina's nature? The darkness is alluring, the power is even more tempting. Soon Alina will understand what she once rejected and whether it was good choice for her. The sun summoner has to resist giving into the shadow summoner's will, but how long will she be able to put on a show, as her feelings are starting to fade into numbness? And how easy can it be to kill the one who's standing beside you on a throne, when power has never felt so good? Alina may find out the answer when shadows have already taken over her heart. (Basically Mal dies, Alina turns dark and lives with the Darkling at the Grand Palace. Her friends are trying to kill him. I cupped the back of his neck, feeling the silken brush of his hair on my fingertips. I knew Mal was watching. I needed him to turn away. I needed him to go. I tilted my face up to the Darkling's. "My power is yours," I whispered. Power flowed through me--the power of the stag, its strong heart beating in both our bodies, the life he'd taken, the life I tried to save. But I also felt the Darkling's power, the power of the Black Heretic, the power of the Fold. Like calls to like. This time, I didn't fight. I let go of my fear, my guilt, my shame. There was darkness inside me. He had put it there, and I would no longer deny it. The volcra, the nichevo'ya, they were my monsters, all of them. And he was my monster, too. "My power is yours," I repeated. His arms tightened around me. "And yours is mine," I whispered against his lips. Mine. What would have happened if Alina gave into the hunger and need for power? What if she was taken to the little palace instead of the tunnels in Siege and Storm? Alina will learn that like calls to like. And so will the Darkling. Together the will learn together the true meaning of infinite power and that nothing is more infinite than the universe and the greed of man. This story starts at chapter twenty-three of Siege and Storm.

The knife sank into his body, and Alina regretted it almost immediately. She tried to stop the flow of blood, but by the way it spurts out in coughs, Alina knew that she hit true. Her hands stained red, so red it seemed like they never had been another color; vaguely, she wondered if cleaning them would ever get them rid of the smell of iron.

Slowburn darklina/ alarkling fanfic set after ruin and rising except i had to ignore the ending. It was too painful so im now im here, writing my own ending. No one could possibly understand except the only other being who has also crossed that line. But he was killed by her own hand. All these characters are Leigh Bardugo's and I am just writing the story how I think it should have happened (aka DARKLINA ALL THE WAY).
