Alberto is a 16-year-old fisherboy, the villagers call him a sea monster hunter because of his despise of those creatures for killing his father, he will hunt them for revenge. Luca on the other hand is a sea monster who keeps wondering above the surface. His parents told him to not go near the land because the land monster is a threat to them. Luca won't listen and decided to check for his own. There he met Alberto and be friends with him after he found out he is a sea monster hunter, he decided to hide his true identity.

Luca comes back to Portorosso for the summer, they are both really happy to finally see each other again. But something odd has been going on with Giulia and Luca's relationship in Alberto's mind. Alberto has been jealous of Luca and Giulia for a while now, and all he wants is to have Luca to himself and run away together. He finds out Luca wants to go to school again for the year, and he doesn't want that to happen. He finds out that he caught feelings for Luca, but he doesn't want to show that yet. They then later meet up with Ercole.... - these characters aren't mine, they belong to Disney's Pixar movie called Luca.

What if Ercole didn't miss? What if someone stood in the way between Alberto and the harpoon? Everything comes to an end. That's a lesson Alberto has learned throughout his life. Luca sacrificed everything for him, yet his ghost remains. Now, both of them must learn to let go of their grievances.
