Thus, it's a companion and commentary on The Penderwicks series, especially "The Penderwicks at last". After reading "Jo and Laurie" by Stohl and De La Cruz, I was unsatisfied. In this tale, I have taken some elements of their plotline and made it my own. This is how I would have wanted the re-telling to look like, a lot more relationship building, character building, and reality. I intend to give Jo and Laurie the "Hollywood ending" we all dream of, while still making the story feel real.
