The forces of Count Saazbaum discovered the location of the Deucalion and launched a full-scale attack using a weapon called 'Zero,' an Aldnoah artifact of unknown origin believed to be from an advanced civilization that left Aldnoah on the Moon in its hyperspace gate millennia ago.
