Alec has been selected as the head of the lesser-known San Francisco Institute, previously run by the graceful Sienna and her butler James, and brings Isabelle, Clary, and Jace with him. Isabelle quickly finds trouble with Charlie Fairchild from the LA Institute as they uncover a possible problem with an increase in warlock activities. Alec Lightwood, an 18 year old boy who has a younger sister, Izzy who is 16, and a hardworking mom who loves them both deeply. He has one best friend Jace, who can be a pain in the ass sometimes and Alec only a few months left until he graduates from the boring school, Shadowhunter High. Magnus Bane, a 19 year old boy who has no family left and barely anyone to call friends. He doesn't go to school and if he decides to, it's never the same one. Even though he is a smart boy with alot of knowledge, he doesn't seem to be able to love. When Alec and Mangus become friends online they start to get feelings. The freeloving bisexual even attends Shadowhunter High to be closer to Alec. How will the closet gay react when he realised he has certain feelings towards the mysterious Mangus Bane?

Valentine has kidnapped Alec and is using him as a hostage to force Magnus to do an Inception job for him. Valentine wants Magnus to plant the idea in Simon's mind to change his mind about divorcing Jonathan. But when Magnus discovers that Jonathan had been abusing Simon he is torn about what to do. Magnus won't rest until he saves Alec but he can't allow Simon to return to his abusive husband. Alec tries to escape from Valentine, but he has become obsessed with Alec so he is desperate to keep Alec from escaping. What Valentine doesn't know is that Alec has the power of being able to communicate with people through dreams, he uses this power to talk to Magnus but he has to be careful so that Valentine doesn't find out about his power.

"The only reason you want to marry her is because you thought that maybe the commitment will make you forget him." Magnus point his finger at Alec's chest. "You-" "And just to make yourself better, also prove it to him and to others that you got no feelings whatsoever with him. All because of that stupid one-sided love you got." Magnus smirks. "I told you i have no feelings towards Jace !" Alec throw his fist to magnus's jaw. Magnus spits some blood and then look straight at Alec in the eyes. "Lydia is my friend, in court, in life, one of my best client and prosecutor. I'm not going to let you steal her freedom. You said you don't love Jace ? Fine. Prove it, Alexander." Magnus leans in.

This story is based on the Hamilton musical song Satisfied but has a happy ending. Alec and Magnus were together for three years but broke up. They meet again at a party two years later, Alec never stopped loving Magnus and realizes this is his chance to win Magnus back. He reconnects with Magnus but just as he hopes that Magnus still loves him back, Magnus still loves him back, Alec realizes that Izzy is in love with Magnus. Alec loves Izzy so much and can't bear the thought of being the reason she would loose her chance of happiness with Magnus. So he sets Magnus up with her even though it devastates him. But ten years later Izzy and Magnus end their marriage and Magnus meets Alec again. Magnus discovers Alec's sacrifice and realizes he still loves Alec. After reconciling Alec and Magnus get back together.

Alec have been sneaking around leaving the institut at night and coming back the next day, no one knows where he goes and Jace keeps trying to get him to tell him but Alec wont tell a soul. he is secretly dating Magnus Bane the high warlock of brooklyn, and his mom hates Magnus thats why they keep it a secret Alec hate hiding their relationship but all the hate of hiding and scared if someone finds out. but all his problems disappear when he get to kiss and cuddle with his little Warlock, but what happens when Magnus get pregnant? and is affraid to tell Alec and then Alec find out and confront Magnus about it.

Alec is really looking forward to his 21st birthday, but he is devastated when everyone forgets his birthday. Even Magnus forgets. When Magnus realises he has forgotten Alec's birthday he feels terrible and wants to make it up to Alec. But an old enemy wants Alec and is obsessed with him. Victor won't rest until he takes Alec away from Magnus and makes Alec his.
