Assistants from the detective society have been lost, one out of murder, one out of grief and one from a terrible accident. Half the romantic couples are cut in two, between life and death. One cannot take the pain any longer and perishes, one will be upset for very long and shall regret their actions towards their friend who now lies in a deathbed. It's the summer after the Anniversary Murder and Daisy has invited Hazel, George and Alexander (reluctantly) to Fallingford, her home. They didn't expect to come across anything they could investigate. That was, however, before they saw the footprints.

As we all know, Hazel Wong has had a super huge crush on Alexander Acardy for a long time now. I mean, it's not hard to tell. Only problem: he's dating stupid Delacroix. Luckily Hazel has fabulous, amazing friends who help her get the long-armed-man of her dreams, and will stop at NOTHING to make them date. Oh and one more problem: Hazel doesnt know about her silly crush yet. It's alright though, for her simply spiffing friends including I, the Honourable Daisy Wells, will sort it out.

"He didn't survive" was Hazel's only answer when her best friend, Daisy Wells had asked her what was on her mind, as Hazel knew there wasn't enough time to save him. As it has happened a long time before Hazel could scream his name. Her colleague, her friend was dead and she washi, the only person left to remember him bar Glitch and Vanny. As his family had died before him and his best friend had died to kill him. However, they had no choice but to continue their job at hand. Meanwhile Alexander Arcady and Daisy Wells try to find out what Hazel, George and Lavinia are hiding. Then they have to go back to school leaving Daisy to confide in her Aunt and Uncle about the new but old case. Old murders needed to be solved.
