He has a great group of friends, very high intelligence, and is a top-notch writer. Alexander's life seems happy and full, no room for romance-until he meets his quiet, intelligible, turtle-loving roommate.

This is a modern college AU where John goes to college to start a new life, so does Alex. When they are forced to dorm together those new lives begin to overlap. At first Alex hates John because he assumes John is just like his father but eventually they become friends - and maybe (Alex hopes) more. basically just your average college AU

Laurens is dead. There was no denying that. Alex had even been there to see him die in his hospital room. So yes, Laurens was as dead as a door-nail. BUT when a strange man is seen walking in the woods Alex gets a ray of hope. Will that be his Laurens or will it be someone else and if it is Laurens will Alex get to him in time to see him alive or see him dead?

Little did he know how fragile Alex was, how alone he was, How much Alex relied on him. This is my first book, so I know it's bound to be bad. Anyways, this contains swearing and mentions of serious self harm.

John thought that possibly, despite all the incessant two a.m. ramblings and winning inner arguments, his soulmate couldn't possibly be that bad. Sure, he seemed aggressive and outgoing, much more so than John, but was that really a drawback? All his life, the world around him, even his own worthless bag of tits of a father, had treated him as if he were nothing, a piece of scum. He never really knew if it was all true. But the voice in his head, the one he could always hear but never reply to, marveled about how great a person he must be. Praised him, even. It was new.
