It has been two years since the counter-government group The Children's League took down the camp systems and ousted President Gray. Two years since the PSFs were disbanded and the skip tracers all had to get new jobs. Aspen Shaw has spent the last three years of her life on the run, but now she's moved in to a house with three other Psi, filming a documentary series in the hopes of rebuilding their lives and connecting to their lost families and friends. But reintegrating with the rest of society proves to be tougher than Aspen had hoped, and danger still lurks in the shadows of her past.

Those who survived were given powers. Each power corresponds with a different color. Greens are geniuses. Blues are telekinetic. Yellows are electrokinetic. Reds are pyrokinetic. Oranges are mind controllers. Reds are relatively rare. They possess immense destructive potential. Therefore, they are used by the government to destroy and execute multiple people. However, one managed to change the doctor's mind. At 16 years old, she was sent to Caledonia, along with other Psi children. There, she blended in with the other children. When you play with fire you're going to get burned. Ember was only 12 years old when she went off to her camp, Thurmond. She was only 10 when IAAN wiped out 80% of the children in America. Ember spent 6 years in Thurmond hiding among greens. When she was 18 she got lucky when Cate Conner decided to save both her and Ruby. Ruby may have ran away from The Children's League, but Ember stayed. Ember was willing to fight for freedom alongside her new friends and the guy she had met. Cole Stewart. This from The Darkest Minds series by Alexandra Bracken. Which is by the way an amazing series. I do not own any of the characters except for Ember. This is basically what would happen to Cole if he didn't die. I hope you enjoy. Just trying something new.

Sam didn't think things could get worse at Thurmond rehabilitation camp. Then the Reds arrive. Everyone assumed the kids with firepower had been killed years ago. Instead they were taken away, brainwashed, and returned as terrifyingly effective guards. To her horror, Sam recognizes one of them: Lucas, the one spark of light in Sam's dark childhood. The ending of the original story by Alexandra Bracken is horribly depressing so I decided to give it a much more hopeful ending. Fortunately, the next part of the story is out now and it offers a whole lot more closure so this alternate ending is no longer necessary but it's still a better alternative than the real tearful ending!
