The darkest minds fanfiction. Ruby has just left Salem and her old private school Thurmond. She goes to live with Grams because her parents had died in a accident. Ruby sleeps in the basement of Grams house and she goes to a new high school since she is a junior. She meets up with the Darkest minds trilogy series characters and trust me a lot of stuff happens. I.A.A.N.: Idiopathic Adolescent Acute Neurodegeneration. A disease that affected all children between the ages of 8 to 14. Over 90% of the population died of the disease. Those who survived were given powers. Each power corresponds with a different color. Greens are geniuses. Blues are telekinetic. Yellows are electrokinetic. Reds are pyrokinetic. Oranges are mind controllers. Reds are relatively rare. They possess immense destructive potential. Therefore, they are used by the government to destroy and execute multiple people. However, one managed to change the doctor's mind. At 16 years old, she was sent to Caledonia, along with other Psi children. There, she blended in with the other children. One year later, the breakout happened, and she escaped with a group of kids just like her. My name is Lily Anderson. This is my story.

I am OBSESSED with The Prosper Redding series by Alexandra Bracken, and I love to think about what other things could have happened in Prosper and Alastor's world! This is a few head canons I have, including little stories to keep my fiendish mind at state. Enjoy if you must, other PR fans! I recommend loudunnun on AO3 (Archive of Our Own). I never quite understood death, not even when over half of my class died from IAAN, and most adults began to hold us at arms length. But when my brother died, death had become a constant companion. I remember when my parents found him too. I had been woken up first because my room was at the beginning of the hall. I had already gotten out of bed when I heard their loud weeping. My parents said I didn't have to go to school that day, but I wish I had gone, then maybe I wouldn't have been subjected to their grief and anger. That night as my parents tucked me into bed and my mother gave me an extra long hug, my father only had one thing to say, "It should have been you."

Ruby Daly didn't have the best childhood. She grew up with parents who were constantly fighting and was given up for adoption when she was ten. Her life changed when she met Liam Stewart and his family who kindly took her in. Ruby, now 16, didn't think she was that bad of a person until she discovers a shocking family secret that leads to her running away, and Liam sent to go after her.

Sam didn't think things could get worse at Thurmond rehabilitation camp. Then the Reds arrive. Everyone assumed the kids with firepower had been killed years ago. Instead they were taken away, brainwashed, and returned as terrifyingly effective guards. To her horror, Sam recognizes one of them: Lucas, the one spark of light in Sam's dark childhood. Lucas has a deadly secret-he beat the brutal training that turned his fellow Reds into mindless drones. When Sam defends herself against an attack by a vile PSF guard and faces a harrowing punishment, Lucas must risk his everything to save her. The ending of the original story by Alexandra Bracken is horribly depressing so I decided to give it a much more hopeful ending. Fortunately, the next part of the story is out now and it offers a whole lot more closure so this alternate ending is no longer necessary but it's still a better alternative than the real tearful ending!
