Lynn and Alexa are the ex-best friends of ex-best friends. They were best friends until fourth grade and Alexa back-stabbed Lynn sending her into a deep depression. It was almost as if Alexa had no choice. She had a fucked up home and "money doesn't buy you happiness" really did apply to her. Lynn was a rebel. She had a crazy friend group and after 3 years of deep depression was happy as ever and almost forgot Alexa existed. How will this all play out ?

The only thing that Lynn Gunn and Alexa San Roman have in common is their third hour chemistry class. That is, at least, until the two take interest in eachother's company. A whirlwind of strange occurrences soon thrust the two closer, causing them to team up to get to the bottom of it- in the process getting to know eachother a lot better than expected. When past and future combine, the results can be bold.

Taylor Jardine is popular in high school. And it's not even that she's intelligent; in fact, she's a D student. But with her good looks and rich mom, she can get just about anywhere she wants in life--and she's still just a senior. Jenna McDougall is a new student, a sophomore, who transferred directly from an all-girls school in Sydney, Australia to the ever-busy, ever-rude Clairemont High in San Diego, California. Good-looking, of course, but no one pays attention to the new girl unless they're knocking her books out of her hands, or commenting on her clothing choices, or making fun of her perfect grades. When two worlds collide, friendship is not the first thing to come about two complete opposite girls. When Lynn is almost raped outside of the local gay bar, a girl named Alexa comes to her rescue. Even with Alexa being fine and insisting Lynn doesn't owe her anything, she somehow still feels obligated to try and repay her now.

Alexa San Roman is in a band and plays shows every week at little bars, not expecting much but loving every moment. She never would have thought to meet a girl who makes her feel at home. (The title is taken from a song by Explosions In The Sky)

And here it starts again with being young and stupid, and not being careful. At all. To Tay's family it's a humongous surprise to find that she and her oh-so perfect boyfriend, Kellin, were careless enough to be expecting a child in ninth months. And to make it even worse, once the realization finally hits Kellin that this means settling down immediately, he bails, leaving Tay to take care of their child on her own. But the only person keeping her on her feet is her Aussie best friend, Jenna, who is letting Tay stay with her during the pregnancy. But what starts out as a simply friendly relationship in deciding how to take care of the child quickly turns into something more romantic when the pair begins to fall in love with each other.

Lynn is a struggling photographer who tends bar at said cabaret-turned-lounge to make ends meet. The two, naturally, form a very lucrative partnership, but between Ashley's demons, Lynn's girlfriend, and the complex web of mysteries and relationships that entangles them and their colleagues, they have a lot to face down if they want that happy ending.
