In danger from the monsters of SLvic mythology, which sounds stupid until they are attacked by Ovinnik, which are fire demons. She is ecstatic about the opportunity to do something with her life other than live, get a job, and die, but at the same time, terrified at the prospect of Monsters being real and having to leave her sort-of-family. Before she knows it, she is living in Varno in a house with all of her "Siblings", trying to find her place in the strange, foreign world. But apparently, good things can't last. Perun's Axe is stolen from him right under his nose, and unless someone finds it, then the very world could go to war with itself. With the help of Carson, and her new friend Gretchen, Aliana will travel the world to find the Axe of Perun, before it is too late.
