Ellie Chu, 5 years after leaving her little town Squahamish to Iowa to pursue her college degree in Literature, 22 years old fresh and back. Ellie left the town leaving Aster with the words " see you in a couple of years" and Paul with one less friend who used to live across his home. She is now back to the life she so dearly misses. This is the supposed sequel of Netflix's The Half Of It, directed by the one and only Alice Wu. I am not here to duplicate any works of Alice's and am deeply grateful for her production of this film. A continuation of Saving Face, the Asian American Lesbian love story, that follows our reluctant protagonist Wil, her partner Vivian, and middle-aged Ma who is now a mother again. Originally posted on my blogspot page in 2006, after watching and becoming infatuated with Alice Wu's unlikely romantic comedy. I've plucked these blog posts from oblivion from the internet archive site, The Wayback Machine, after learning that my blogspot account was taken over by a squatter. Not everything was saved, but luckily all of the posts were archived by a kind Chinese fan on a Baidu forum. Now I'm posting them here for posterity sake.

What if Lilia wasn't the only one in her original coven that survived the disease that killed the others? Sarafina Ferraro likes to distance herself from people, because people tend to die if they spend too much time with her, whether it be because they decide to attack her or other reasons but they almost always end up dead, except for Lilia.

The ending to The Half of It was amazing, but also wanted to give Ellie and Aster a happy ending together in an alternate universe :) Ellie comes home from college to reunite with Aster for Christmas break after being a year into their long distance relationship. Lots of fluff and some young adult existentialism. While they add depth and contribute to the story's richness, I prefer not to write shipping narratives for them due to personal comfort around age dynamics. For these characters, I focus instead on other relationship types that align better with the themes and approach of the story.
