Alienated Stories

I've never thought of my family as 'normal'. To people on the outside, we appear to be your typical rich family living the American dream. But on the inside, we're just two detached parents and their adopted son, living in a house of secrets and nightmares. Of course, at first I didn't believe anything was different about us, but then I met a girl who turned everything around drastically. This is my story.

This is full of poems which is in Tamil language but written in English for easy understand for people who knows only to speak and understand Tamil.

A poem, of my Travels in the Orient. The Moment I arrived amongst "The Men in Black". An Oriental, Old World Teahouse. Where Alienation doesn't even Capture the Vibe. Laptop infront of me, and looking like I don't match culturally nor with the Times of the space.

"This was a society, in which, character was nothing and sexuality was everything." Ever since I was a baby, I was told that 'Heteros', as many like to call them, were the outcasts of society. Abominations, my mothers had called them. My mothers had both said that I was a beautiful girl, therefore it would be easy for me to snatch up the girl I wanted, and then, take the step into marriage when both she and I were ready. We had it all planned out. They had it all planned out. But then high school came, and the inevitable happened; I fell in love. The only problem was, it wasn't how my mothers had planned everything. I just couldn't help myself. I fell in love with a boy. Little did I know, Hetero would be the only thing I would be known as. A filthy, vile, outcasted, Hetero. Loving the opposite sex was considered worse than even the worst of crimes. So that's exactly what I did. *idea initially based off a short video I've seen* #61 in Short Story on 13/01/2017

Leah is seventeen and on the verge to graduate high school, when she forgets her key. She is left outside her house but noone lets her in. There are no people in sight or cars to be seen, Why is it she is the only one left where are her family, friends and neighbours? Where is everyone?

Haley is dealing with problems back home as best as she can, but when it becomes too much, Haley’s aunt offers her a room at her beach house for the summer. Haley expects a summer of just laying on the beach and helping her aunt at her beach side restaurant, but when she meets her goofy neighbor, and a cute surfer, life seems good until tragedy strikes, changing her summer, and possibly her entire future.

These poems have been written over the course of several years, and reflect emotions as they pertain to being a woman, feeling judged, abused, inadequate, but also powerful after confronting our inner demons. This collection is also reflective of an appreciation of nature, and goddess imagery as a form of strength and female empowerment.
