You just moved to the village and honestly, you loved it there. But then, things start happening. The 'wealthy' family had sternly decided to leave the Philippines and move to Colombia. The family's matriarch, whom the Madrigal's matriarch's acquaintance, will finally meet again after a long period of time. This story is a magical realism that takes place in the early 1950s, with a sense of the author's personal experiences.
