For nearly two years Kemari Sanders suffered the abusive ways of her husband. Dehumanized, degraded, and broken inside and out on a daily basis, yet too ashamed to tell her family and friends the truth about her knight and shining armor she turns to alcohol to help her cope with the pain. Over the years, she goes from a hardworking, beautiful woman that every one loves, to a woman who can barely pull herself out of bed to even care for her son. Her family and best friend Cindy notice the changes and begin pressuring her husband Zack Sanders for answers. He fills their heads with stories about walking in on Kemari having sex with another man in their bed and her plans to leave him and Kamron. Cindy knows her best friend too well to even contemplate believing Zack’s story. She also seen the bruises Kemari tried to cover with extra clothing and make up. The guilt of being the one who brought them together gives her the motivation to find out the truth and save her best friend. But her husband Malcolm O’Chinney, Zack’s old partner when they first started on the force together the year they met Cindy and Kemari, isn’t supportive in her mission. He does everything in his power to keep his nosy wife out of his partner’s business, convinced that everything Zack told him about Kemari is true. Two couples torn apart by lies, abuse, alcohol, cheating and everything else contradicting their marital vows. Two women fighting against two cops doesn’t turn out to be the easiest fight. Cindy soon realize the battle they are up against when the law is the abuser isn’t the easiest fight. Not to mention her best friend is too weak to stand up for herself anymore. They soon realize the battle they are up against when the men who are supposed to uphold the law are the same ones twisting it to deny justice.
