The empire demanded their blood. They chose their home. In the blood-soaked mud of 1916, the British Empire demands a devastating price from its distant colonies. But when the call for more ANZAC reinforcements reaches the Pacific, the thread snaps. Instead of compliance, the streets of Melbourne and Wellington explode into violent, anti-imperial riots. In a coordinated political coup, radical nationalist governments seize power, severing ties with the British Crown to forge a defiant new alliance: the United Commonwealth of Australia and the Republic of Aotearoa. Furious at the betrayal, the Royal Navy seals the borders with a brutal blockade, plunging the young nations into an agonizing war of survival. Returning soldiers face a shattering choice: uphold their oaths to a distant King, or defend the rugged shores of a newly independent homeland. To survive, the breakaway republics must form unprecedented alliances with indigenous leaders, rewriting the future of their land and striking a dangerous bargain with the Empire's enemies. From the desperate trenches of the Siege of Auckland to the clandestine nuclear labs of the Australian desert and the vibrant, decolonized cultural renaissance of the 1990s, the story charts an alternate century of defiance. Armed with an independent spirit, a proprietary digital frontier, and a nuclear deterrent, two nations stand completely unbowed-forever detached from the Crown, guarding the gateway to the Southern Hemisphere.

In the shadowy underworld of an immortal Roman Empire, something sinister has been developed - something that could remove an immortal's right to death. Aquila, an ancient reaper tasked with guiding expired immortals through a peaceful fade, has been assigned one final task before his own long awaited fading - to investigate and resolve the lingering attachments of a group of humans who have lived far too long. Expecting an easy task, he instead finds a technology so powerful it could shake up the order of the eternal world, and someone who could rekindle his numbed humanity and teach him how to love. Please note that this is a first draft, so I will be reworking the pacing and such. I would appreciate any comments on improvements! :) Human written. No AI :) This book is FREE. What if the global revolution didn't ignite in Petrograd, but in the ports and coal mines of the Pacific? This sweeping, deeply detailed alternate history re-imagines the 20th century through the lens of a radical socialist superpower in the Southern Hemisphere. Spanning nearly a century, the chronicle begins in the depths of World War I, where a clandestine communication network known as the "Red Wire" sparks a synchronized worker uprising across Australia and New Zealand. Bypassing colonial wartime censorship, the newly forged Australasian Socialist Federation (ASF) successfully throws off the British Imperial yoke, breaking royal blockades and repelling a bloody Pacific Civil War. From the defense of Botany Bay to a fierce "Great Patriotic War" against Imperial Japanese invaders, the ASF survives through sheer solidarity and innovative, localized warfare. In peacetime, the Federation emerges as a global beacon of democratic syndicalism. Resilient against the Wall Street Crash of 1929, defiant during the Cold War's Tasman Missile Crisis, and untouched by the collapse of the Soviet Bloc, the ASF pioneers an insulated, eco-conscious economy driven by labor credits, green energy, and a revolutionary real-time digital democracy. Rich in geopolitical intrigue, technological divergence, and military strategy, this timeline offers a captivating blueprint of a world where corporate capitalism failed to conquer the globe, and the working class built a high-tech, zero-emission sanctuary in the South Pacific.

Rosie the Little Purple Engine (isn't she pink tho-) was introduced in Season 10 of the Television Series and, like most engines introduced during this era of the show, Rosie didn't get much of a backstory.....and proceeded to not really get one......for the rest of the show. So, I wanted to rectify that, having said that, here is my take on Rosie's Backstory sticking to the Railway Series lore for most of it with a few callbacks to other stories of similar events.

Approximately Latin for "On the desert provinces", this is a short compile of poems regarding the conquest of three lands that were converted into Roman provinces. Canonically, the date and author of these poems are unknown, but it can be estimated to have been made after the third century, as the conquests of Rutubisais and Yathribensis/Scenitaea fall within Vespasian and Caracalla's reigns. -Divided in three poems -Provinces picked just to make them appear on Google. -Based off of moxn's "Roma Invicta: The Heroic Age" map, with nothing taken from the story

Short Synopsis Green Unpleasant Land Fog shrouded Victorian London, but not the 1888 we'd recognise. There's a whiff of revolution in the air, not to mention lycanthropy in the shires. As Mr Eiffel's tower nears completion in Hyde Park, famed Egyptologist Sir Percy Tiverton returns with his latest find - a nameless book so mysterious not even the Royal College of Alchemists can decipher its runes. Alexander Faversham is England's foremost champion of derring-do, but his legend is built on sand. Loyal-to-a-fault manservant Bill might know more about his master's heroics than either are letting on. When the nameless book is stolen, Bill's entanglement threatens to bring his carefully constructed façade crashing down. There's something nasty lurking in the shadows and it wants its book back. Who would dare confront the tentacles slithering from the sewers? When the Empire needs a hero, it doesn't always get the one it expects. 80k words Gothic/Cosmic Horror/Alt History

The only hope for the future lies in the past. When an adventurer is trapped in the distant past, the only person who can save him is his own granddaughter. The problem? She hasn't been born yet. When John Hamman found the time machine, he didn't know what adventures it would lead him on, and he could not predict the sequence of events that would strand him in the distant past. Can he shape a future that will one day save him from his own mistakes? Jenny Hamman was a child when her grandfather showed her the dinosaur tooth he wore on a cord around his neck. That moment set the trajectory of her life. Jenny had no idea of the dangers she would one day face. Only she can save her grandfather. Her existence and that of everyone she loves hangs in the balance. ___ Sneak Peek: Jenny wasn't sure what woke her, some instinct that death was near. Perhaps it breathed on her. Jenny opened her eyes but only saw darkness. The smell made her freeze. It was a fetid smell of rotten meat, the smell of a lion or hyena that fed on carrion. She had covered herself with cut ferns, but she could turn her head slightly and look up where she saw patches of the stars through the trees on this moonless night. Then a shape moved above her and blotted out the stars. She heard a huffing sound, and that fetid breath blew down on her like a wind. She drew her gun and fired up into the shadow looming above her. The flash from the muzzle of the High Power lit up the inside of it's mouth like a flashbulb, as she fired the gun down its throat. All she saw was teeth. ___ This book is available on Amazon in print an e-book formats. Copyright © July 2025. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy, alter, or steal this story.
