Disclaimer: This story is based on an Europa Universalis IV alternate history mod: Ante Bellum, this story specifically covers a timeline where the Umayyad Caliphate of Cordoba survives the attempted reconquista of the Christians led by Francia, colonized the new world, spread Islam throughout the globe, and made it through the centuries becoming a modernized Islamic state. (Credit to Parmelion for the Ante Bellum mod) After trials and tribulations, wars fought and rebellions quelled, only for another to come. Al-Andalus is truly a unique state, built by a disgraced dinasty after facing a rebellion, losing the title of "Khalifah" to said rebellion, and fled the chaos to a fringe region where most of it's inhabitants don't even speak Arabic or practice Islam. Al-Andalus has became a place where Christians, Muslims and Jews live side by side, such tolerance was never heard of in that time period. Granted, toleration can only go so far when you're surrounded by hostile neighbors. But by some miracle, Al-Andalus prevails. With the discovery of the Americas, the Andalusians were presented with an opportunity. After the Nizzarid pretender of Egypt cut of routes from India, the Andalusians could make up for the lost trade for an oceanic Empire, and use that funding to find alternative route to India. This empire building slowly snowballing Andalusia to become the world's naval hegemon, with territories covering from Kalifurniya to Malaya. Reforms and previously flawed system of equality were rectified, religious converts at an all time high, economy is booming. But alas, just like any colonial empire. It has to come to an end eventually, the Neo-Kharijites faning the flames of revolution across the Caliphate, most breakaway peacefully, others by force. And thus, the Andalusian golden age come to an end. But in year 1976, whilst the nation faces economic stagnation, A GATE has appeared in the city of Ishbiliya, and the Caliphate finds an opportunity.

It's been over 2,000 years since the Great Ice Age unleashed its fury across the earth. To ensure humanity's survival, the Founding Engineers selected a genetically diverse population to live under the safety of a dome, leaving everyone on the outside to perish. With the real world shut out so long ago, hardly anyone remembers it's there-- least of all Maysel, who's frozen inside. The only thing she has to worry about is the dome's dwindling gene pool, which threatens their very existence. The reason they were chosen. To ensure humanity's survival through the Great Ice Age. When Maysel finds out the city stole her DNA as a toddler, she teams up with Maddox, a classmate with deep, personal gripes against the city. Together, they uncover the ethically questionable lengths the city has taken to restore the gene pool, and begin to think beyond the dome's false blue sky. Meanwhile Dr. Hatfield, a scientist for Avtek, spends his summers analyzing ice cores in Antarctica. Until one day, he stumbles across a man-made tunnel on the side of a mountain, just barely peeking above the surface. The ice is melting.

    |ONC 2026 · NOVELLA #1| #SupportIndigenousVoices A gifted teen embarks on a journey to join two tribes during the Last Age, as they search for the mystical Bering Land Bridge. *** Fifteen-year-old Khochu, the only surviving child of Vika and Sasha, wants only one thing: to find a place where humans and animals can live in peace from the bitter Ice Age--a place he has dreamed about for years--and prove his sickly family's strength. However, his life changes when he's chosen to begin his rite of passage early and meets Nikita, a cannibal girl from a neighboring tribe, who is also struggling to find food in the icy world. As the two begin to bond and explore Khochu's unique gift of animal whispering, Khochu learns he is the key to everything: a door that forces the rival tribes together across the icy steppes. As they search for a new life, Khochu and his animal friends must use their gifts to protect the tribes from predators. Still, the connection between Khochu and Nikita begins to interfere with Khochu's test, which is not good for a boy trying to prove that the Bering Land Bridge isn't a myth. Is first love really this difficult? *** *ONC 2026 Prompt used: Number 61 - "They say every door has its own key. Except for one, a key said to open them all." *Note: My writing style resembles screenwriting, so please judge it accordingly.*

Newly married and thrust into life at the Romanian court, Nicholas of Romania and Princess Natalie Paley must learn to live not only with each other, but with the weight of unresolved grief, expectations, and a union born of necessity as much as affection. Court politics prove no less ruthless than those they left behind, and Nicholas soon discovers that love offers little protection against the ever-present shadow of his brother Carol, waiting abroad for the right moment to reclaim power, as well as Natalia's past. Meanwhile, Vladimir finds himself drawn to Romania more often than expected, under the pretext of family visits that quickly become something else. Old feelings resurface where they should not, and the line between restraint and inevitability grows thinner with every meeting. For Irina, marriage offers no refuge. When a devastating revelation shatters what little illusion remained, her union with Feodor becomes a façade, carefully maintained for appearances alone. Turning away from court life, she dedicates herself entirely to the creation of a new hospital, finding in purpose and service a form of fulfilment she never anticipated-and a freedom she had not known she was seeking.

The Stargate is open, and it hasn't brought friends. From the stars comes Anhur, a Goa'uld System Lord who views the scorched remains of Earth as nothing more than a slave colony waiting to be harvested. Joined by SG-1, a team of elite explorers displaced from a time that should have been, Victoria must bridge the gap between wasteland grit and ancient technology. Liora Ashryn has spent her life trying to avoid her family's legacy. The Valeharts influence governments, shape economies, and move through history like a shadow at dusk. She wants no part of it, until her grandfather Ansel Roethe dies and she collapses at his funeral. When she wakes, she is in 1914, inhabiting the body of an ancestor on the brink of a decision that could alter the course of a world war. Liora soon discovers the truth of the Valehart bloodline. Once per generation, one heir from each of the Twelve Houses can enter the lives of their ancestors at moments of crisis. Known as the Passage, it has allowed generations to quietly redirect history. But this time, something is wrong. She is not the only heir of her generation to manifest the power. Heirs are dying during their Passages. Entire Houses are vanishing as though they never existed. More members of the Twelve are awakening than the system was ever designed to sustain. The balance that has governed history for centuries is beginning to fracture. As Liora learns to navigate the lives of her ancestors, she discovers that intervention is never clean. Every adjustment creates consequences she cannot fully predict. The past resists her. The present reacts. And the cost of miscalculation grows heavier with each attempt. Allies blur into rivals. Observation becomes influence. Influence becomes instability. By the time Liora understands the limits of her control, the damage has already begun to surface. The Passage was meant to preserve history. Instead, it may be unraveling it. History is no longer waiting. And the first fracture has already begun.
