Despite its poor appearance, the English Institute of the Mentally Ill is a highly recommended children's home, thus only accepting a few children at a time. And, of course, the best only uses the best. The permanent staff at the institute are elite at what they do, much to a single individual's dismay. Slick is the head supervisor at the Institute, and also is handy as a variety of other jobs. Due to a favour he owed to the Headmistress, he works until it's paid. Unfortunately for him, he and his crew, known as the Midnight Crew back in the day, are incredibly good at being the supervisors (and part-time bodyguards) due to their unbridled past. Something, which the Headmistress believes will benefit the Institute greatly. Now you, the reader, will wisp through the Institute's corridors, have an insight on the unique perspectives of a children's eye and play with the fate of the English Institute of the Mentally Ill!

After a last time shenanigan that Aradia named the Reboot, the Beta kids, both trolls and human, are sent back in time the very day where they were supposed to start the game, except there was a few difference. The first of all is the fact that the game client never worked, and other odds incoherences like the fact that Tavros is still in a four wheel device while Aradia and her lusus are alive, like they never died at all. And the most important change of all is the fact that humans and trolls remember everything from the game and can still message each other through Pesterchum/Trollian, like they are now in the same universe. Shortly after they all process the Reboot, Karkat has been trolled by a panicked unknown troll typing in light grey, acting like he and Karkat were friends. At the same moment on earth when the human kids were about to run the client, thinking of an unexpected chance to play the game right this time, when Liam suddenly drop everything. When the others had tried to get news from him, only to learn about the loss he have to grieve. While their friends were trying to figure out everything that was happening, John and Vriska try to run the game's client but... nothing happen. Neither at that moment nor the days later. It has been a sweep now and the kids had to resume their normal lives, with only their memories and their otherworldly friends on social media to make it less empty. But how much do they remember about the game ? And, more importantly, are they the only to remember ?
