Tego nie da się zwalczyć samodzielnie. Tutaj potrzeba pomocy i wsparcia. Will odczuwa podobne emocje po opuszczeniu Redmont. Coraz bardziej zaczyna mu brakować bliskich - przyjaciół i rodziny. Coraz lepiej odczuwa pustkę w sercu pozostawioną przez pewnego mrukliwego zwiadowcę. I dopiero teraz dochodzi do niego co zrobił... Ale Will nie zamierza się poddać. Nie zatrzyma się póki nie osiągnie swojego celu... W tym samym czasie Gilan przechodzi żałobę po stracie dawnego mentora i przyjaciela. Dochodzi do niego smutna prawda i świadomość, że nie cofnie czasu. I że nic nie będzie takie samo. Ale musi się pozbierać. Świat nie zatrzyma się w miejscu, a Crowley i Halt pozostawili mu cały korpus do opieki i on nie zamierzał ich zawieść. Ale czasem jest to trudniejsze, niż się wydaje... Ale nie tylko Gilan przechodzi trudne chwilę. Również dla Horace'a ta sytuacja jest nie zwykle skomplikowana. Sam z trudem podnosi się po stracie córki, a teraz musi ponownie uratować Araluen. I pomimo że i on, i Gilan, i ich przyjaciele są w rozsypce muszą się szybko zebrać. By ponownie stanąć przed wyzwaniem i pomóc światu. Ten ostatni raz. Bo każdy ma swoje limity. Aż tu nagle na światło dzienne wychodzą nowe informacje. Bohaterowie dowiadują się o czymś co wcześniej nie było im znane. Zaczynają patrzeć na wszystkie wydarzenia z innej perspektywy. Tracą swoje stare poglądy i orientują się, że cała ta historia ma drugie, ukryte dno...
