Five years later, Rose encounters Dmitri, another demon, but this one she can't kill because he has marked her, making her his companion.Testing the contours of Rose's mind, she accepts the kind that killed her brother, seeking no other way out and they fall in love,instantly putting them in danger. Fortunately, Dmitri offers a way out of the situation, but it comes at a price... He explains that they need to locate the staff of Rakshas', a staff that if shattered, ends all demon life for good , before the head masters of the other world find and banish them. Dmitri is willing to risk his life for Rose, but will she be able to pull it together and hunt this staff down, killing unexpected demons sent to track them before its too late?
