When Iain comes home from Spain he finds his wife Ruby in bed when it's 8:00pm. All Rights Reserve

I had everything. A wonderful mom (even though she wasn’t exactly a saint), a brother who cared, a boyfriend who cared, and fabulous friends. But then I witnessed something I should have never even known about, and my whole world turns upside down. I lost everything in minutes once the bad-guys figured out who I am. Well, who I was. I get put into witness-protection and things start to not look so bad anymore. Honestly, it didn’t. Not until they found me.

Poor Iain. Ruby has been caught in the fire inside the school. Ruby is laying there unconscious. When they rush Ruby to hospital Iain just prays if his girlfriend will survive despite the burns on her legs and on her face. When Iain finds out Ruby needs to be on a ventilator breathing for her he vows to stay with Ruby.

When Ruby gets involved in a massive accident and left to fight for her life Jan phones Iain as Iain halfway around the world travelling after his drug overdosed. Iain gasped and got on the next plane to get back home as Jan said to a unconscious Ruby" Iain is coming home Ruby just stay strong for Iain. Ruby is looking after her sisters baby and struggling. Iain is still reeling after Dixie's death. After one elderly blind gentleman brings them together they realise they might have more in common then they think. All Rights go to the BBC and BBC Casualty

Ruby is your normal nurse whilst Iain is a Paramedic. One fateful day Ruby is doing work when she notices a veritable paramedic with black hair approaches the staff room.
