For almost three months, America has been at war, since a day that will live in infamy. For the rest of the allies, it has been three years. Kyle is exhausted, and knows the path of war is still long and unwinding before him. And yet here he sits in another meeting, listening to the others argue, tired and ready to head home and fight in the Pacific Theater, Alfred with him every step of the way. It is February 19th, 1942 at home in Australia, early in the morning. And yet here he is in the northern hemisphere, arguing with the other allies, and he cannot shake the feeling that something terrible is about to happen. At 9:58 AM, in Darwin, Australia, Kyle will learn how an attack on one's own soil can affect a personification first hand, and Alfred will make a vow to become death, destroyer of worlds.

As the war to end all wars ended, hope was high for peace. But another war has come, and after two years, the Allies are relying strongly on the aide of the ever neutral American across the ocean. Kyle's glad Alfred's chosen to stay out of it, and when England insists someone must try to get America to join, he volunteers. After all, he can do the bare minimum of formalities, and when Alfred refuses, he can then just spend some time with the man he loves before returning to the war. But events beyond his control are about to throw them both into yet another war, this one in the Pacific. And when a slumbering giant awakes, the world will be shaken to its core.
