Izuku being born as an American was best friends with Barry and Iris growing up. His parents were targeted by assassins because of there Midoriya background. The Midoriya's were the richest people in Japan but Izuku didn't know that so when his mom died, Joe took him as a son and let him live with them and then Barry happened and lived with Joe also.
